Everyone loves pancakes, but children simply adore them. The tall stack of pancakes on the table in the morning is one of the most pleasant sights in our life. Pancakes are delicious and can be eaten with a variety of additions – cream, jam, nuts, fruit, honey and many more things can be added to a pancake and make them taste even better. This is why everyone loves pancakes, but there is one problem – commercial pancakes are usually full of sugar, additives, hydrogenated fats, white flour and other unhealthy ingredients.
Although commercial pancakes are unhealthy, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t prepare your own healthy pancakes at home. It’s a fun and easy process that includes only 2 simple ingredients – bananas and eggs.
Eggs are one of the healthiest foods you can eat – they are rich in minerals, protein, omega-3 fatty acids as well as a fine portion of cholesterol. Contrary to popular belief, eggs won’t harm your health due to the high cholesterol – they will actually regulate your cholesterol levels. Bananas are nutritious and delicious as well. They are rich in numerous vitamins and minerals such as potassium, manganese, copper, carbs, vitamin B and C as well as fiber.
The tropical fruit will make you feel full for longer and reduce your hunger thanks to the presence of 2 types of fiber (resistant starch and pectin). The high potassium content means that bananas can regulate your blood pressure, and are great for your heart health.
Here’s how to prepare these healthy pancakes:
½ a cup of mashed bananas
Mix both ingredients well in a bowl, then pour quarter of the mixture in a hot saucepan. Once the pancake bubbles, flip it over and cook it for a short time. The amount of the ingredients is enough for 5 pancakes, but you can easily adjust it. That’s it! Enjoy your healthy pancakes which will boost your metabolism and promote healthy weight loss!
